It was wine, good girl friends and discussions that bought about my topic this week, is communication overrated.
I always considered feelings, thoughts and expression of how one feels to be a good thing and after discussions with several good girlfriends of mine, I beg to differ on this. Communicating is really a girl thing. You get the "honey I want to talk about something" panic face in your partner whenever some little tidbit is on the tip of your tongue. I tend to express everything, every thought random or otherwise entering my head comes directly out of my mouth. This is good right ? NOOOO apparently not. I have never been good at non expression. But my freedom of speech is never truly appreciated when it comes to my significant other. Why is this. I thought he would be over the moon about knowing exactly what I think. But he would prefer non expression and sticking head in sand syndrome. After consideration and deliberation with my girl panel, it was decided women have tendency to share and share and share and men have a tendency to repress every thought. This is a pretty broad assumption with the exception of both sexes. Romeo was able to express his heartfelt love for Juliet but Big couldn't tell Carrie (Sex in the City) "hey I don't want a big freaking fiasco wedding with half of New York, Ill just not show". So which is it we prefer as the fairer sex, I for one, love a expressive man. Reasons being 1. You know where you stand and where you don't. 2. Its easier to navigate a relationship with freedom of speech. 3. Someone who can hold their own with my expressive nature renders extremely attractive in my eyes.
Another one of the worlds issues sorted in a few short lines WOOT!
